What we do with your photos, and your email.
This page explains what stays on your device, what is shared with the services that run checkout and the website, and what is collected only if you choose analytics.
The short version
- Your draft stays in this browser until a dedicated private intake service is connected. Text drafts expire after 30 days or when you clear this site's data.
- Stripe receives the checkout details needed to take payment. Keepsake Press does not receive your full card number.
- Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity load only after you accept analytics. There are no advertising tags, and Clarity is set to mask all page text.
- We do not sell your personal information or photographs.
What we collect
The story forms may contain your email address, your name, the subject's name, relationship, occasion, dates, dedication and story text. Photographs are selected later in the paid intake. Until the private intake service is connected, the site does not upload that story or those photographs.
Stripe processes the checkout email, billing address, payment method and transaction details. The website host also processes ordinary technical information such as IP address, browser, requested page, timestamp and security logs.
Where it is kept
Story drafts currently use local storage on your device. Clearing this site's browser data removes them. We will name the dedicated database, storage region and photograph processor here before enabling uploads; the site will not silently send Keepsake Press customer data to another project's database.
Payments are processed by Stripe, and the public site is hosted by Vercel. If you email us, your message is handled by the provider for akash@chaitonix.com. These services process only the information needed for their job, under their own security and retention controls.
Your photographs
Photographs are the part people worry about, so this is the part we are strictest about.
- They are used only to make and support your order.
- They are not sold, used in advertising, reused for another customer, or published without your separate permission.
- Keepsake Press does not use them to train models. Before any external production service is allowed to process photographs, it will be named here and checked for appropriate contractual and deletion controls.
- The working copies are scheduled for deletion after the books ship, subject to any short backup or dispute period stated in the final production policy.
Your finished books are yours. We will not show them, or anything from them, publicly without asking you first and getting a yes.
What we use your email for
To send you your first chapter, to ask you to approve the characters and the chapters, to answer an enquiry, and to tell you when your books are ready. That is all. There is no newsletter you were quietly signed up to. If you ask us to stop writing, we stop.
Browser storage and optional analytics
Necessary local storage remembers checkout drafts, paid-intake drafts and your privacy choice. These features work without analytics. If you accept analytics, Google Analytics 4 measures visits and checkout milestones, and Microsoft Clarity provides heatmaps and session replay so we can find confusing pages. Clarity uses Strict masking, which masks all page text. We do not send names, email addresses, story text, photographs or payment details as analytics events.
| Category | Purpose | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Necessary | Privacy choice, local drafts, checkout and security | On |
| Analytics | GA4 audience and checkout measurement; Clarity masked UX diagnostics | Off until accepted |
| Advertising | No advertising tags are used | Off |
What we never do
We do not sell personal information or photographs, share them for another company's marketing, or put advertising pixels on this site. Analytics consent does not subscribe you to marketing and can be withdrawn at any time.
How long we keep things
Browser drafts are kept for up to 30 days. Payment and accounting records are kept for the period required by tax, fraud-prevention and legal obligations. Order working files are kept while the books are made and for the stated support or dispute period; photograph deletion timing will be finalised before uploads are enabled. Analytics providers apply their configured retention controls. We will not keep identifiable story material merely because it might be useful one day.
Asking us to delete it
Email akash@chaitonix.com with Keepsake Press privacy request in the subject. You may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or an objection where the applicable law provides those rights. We may need enough information to verify that the request concerns you. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office or the privacy regulator where you live.
If this page changes
If we ever change how any of this works, we change this page and move the date at the bottom. We will not quietly widen what we do with your photographs; the promises above are the reason people trust us with them.
Launch status. The legal operator name, publishable address, final production processors and exact order-file retention period must be added before public paid launch. This page deliberately does not invent them. If something here is unclear, write to us and we will explain it plainly.
