What we promise, and what we ask of you.

A small press making books to order needs a short agreement, not a long one. This is it. Everything below is something the page already says out loud; nothing here takes any of it back.

What you are buying

The Pair — $89. Both books as digital editions, made from one story: the illustrated Story Book with the written text, and the textless Flip Book built from the same story.

The Printed Pair — $299. Everything in The Pair, plus a hardcover Story Book and a printed Flip Book in a linen gift box, made to order. Shipping is included to the countries accepted at checkout.

The Commission — $699. A longer story made with the studio, with interviews, more chapters and dedicated guidance. The exact production plan is confirmed from the story you submit.

Paying

Stripe-hosted Checkout authorises the full amount on your payment method but does not capture it immediately. The amount, currency and any delivery restriction are shown before you confirm. A bank may show the authorisation as a temporary pending hold. Keepsake Press never receives or stores your full card number.

The studio reviews the order before the authorisation expires. If we accept it, we capture the payment, open the story intake and begin production. If we decline it, we cancel the authorisation so the hold is released. The payment record is labelled Keepsake Press so it is not confused with another project.

One price for everyone: there is no founding rate, no cohort discount and no introductory offer. Whatever the price says on the day you buy is the price everybody pays that day.

The approval promise

Both books go through fittings. You review the characters first, then the chapters, and you approve each one. If something is not right — a face, a colour, a moment we misread — we redraw it. Your books are only finished with your yes.

What we ask in return is the thing the promise depends on: tell us. A redraw is easy while the book is being made, and expensive once it has been printed and shipped.

Timelines

The digital pair takes about two weeks. Printed editions are made to order and take about a month. These are honest estimates from a studio that makes each book individually, not guaranteed delivery dates — and the approval steps are yours, so a book waits while it waits for you. If we are going to be late, we write and tell you before the date, not after it.

Who owns what

You keep your photographs and your story. They are yours before, during and after; we never claim any ownership of them.

You get your finished books to keep, re-read, print and share with your family, forever. What we keep is the craft — our illustration methods, our house style, our templates and the tools we work with. In short: the story is yours, the workshop is ours.

We will not show your book, or anything from it, publicly without asking you first and getting a yes.

Refunds

You may cancel for a full refund at any point up to and including your first chapter. After the studio accepts and captures payment, we draw your characters and make that first chapter. If it is not what you hoped for we would rather talk it through — the direction, the likenesses, the tone — and put it right. If you would still prefer to stop, you get your money back in full, no reason needed. Once you have seen the first chapter, the order is final, because from that point the work is made specifically from your story and photographs. Printed editions are personalised and cannot normally be returned only because you changed your mind; digital withdrawal rights may also change after you expressly ask us to begin supply. This does not affect any right you have when work is faulty, misdescribed, late, or not supplied with reasonable care and skill.

If the finished books are not right, our additional promise still stands: we remake them or refund you. Once a personalised book has gone to print, we will normally try a remake first. If we cannot make the order at all, we refund it in full to the original payment method.

How the books are made

We say this plainly because it matters: our books are AI-assisted and human-directed. Human writers, art directors and editors shape and review every page; modern image tools do the rendering; nothing is final until you have approved it. We do not claim they are hand-drawn, and we do not pretend a machine made them alone.

What we ask of you

Send us photographs you have the right to share, and a story you have the right to tell. If the book is about someone else, we trust that you have thought about how they would feel about it. We may decline work we are not comfortable making; before capture we release the authorisation, and after capture we refund anything paid.

If something goes wrong

Write to akash@chaitonix.com and we will try to fix it by email before anything more formal. If a line in this page turns out to be unclear or capable of being read two ways, the reading that is more favourable to you is the one that applies. Nothing here removes any legal right you have as a consumer where you live.
